South Asian Women in Rare (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through this website, why, and how it is handled.
Information we collect
Information you provide directly
When you use our contact form, we collect:
- Full name
- Email address
- Phone number (optional)
- Your message
- How you identify in relation to us (e.g. patient, caregiver, healthcare worker) — used only to route your message to the right person, not treated or stored as health data
We only collect this because you choose to submit it. It is used solely to respond to your message, consider you as a potential podcast guest or contributor, and for no other purpose.
Cookies and embedded video
Episode pages show a YouTube video thumbnail. YouTube’s player, and any cookies it sets, only load once you either click play or accept our cookie banner — nothing loads automatically. Once loaded, YouTube (Google) may set cookies and collect data per their own privacy policy; we don’t control this data.
Your choice is stored in your browser (localStorage) so we don’t ask again. You can change your mind by clearing your browser’s site data for this domain.
We do not run analytics or advertising trackers on this site.
Hosting logs
Our hosting provider, Netlify, may log standard technical data (IP address, browser type, request timestamps) for security and reliability.
Who we share information with
We do not sell or rent your information. We share it only with the service providers that operate this site on our behalf:
- Netlify — hosts the site and processes contact-form submissions
- Google / YouTube — serves embedded video content on episode pages
- Spotify — powers our podcast episode listings
Each acts as a data processor for the limited purpose of providing their service to us.
How long we keep information
We keep contact-form submissions only as long as needed to respond to your inquiry or maintain an ongoing relationship (e.g. guest coordination), and delete them on request.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to:
- Tell you what information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your information

About the content on this site
Some content on this site relates to rare disease and health experiences, shared by guests as personal stories — we don’t collect or process health data ourselves. We are not a healthcare provider. See our medical disclaimer for more on how to treat content shared here.
Children’s privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
